Smartphone addiction is something that is growing at a tremendous rates. Businessman, geeks or general users tend to possess Smartphones whether they need them or not. It seems that the millions of dollars put into marketing are bearing good fruit and today people like to  use Smartphones for even the most simplest tasks. The competition is quite high. Consumers are looking for endless features and possibilities and manufacturers are striving hard to meet these requirements.

Two of the top competitors of the Smartphone market are the iPhone and the Android. Although Android is a basically an OS, we can still compare it to the iPhone, because Apple too orders its products to be manufactured by companies such as Pegatron.

We shall make this an unbiased comparison of the iPhone and the Android. The war between iPhone and Android was intensified with the release of Motorola’s Droid. Motorola didn’t waste any time in taking it to the iPhone 3GS. With Advertisements that deliberately mocked the iPhone an so on.  The Droid series is considered as the most serious competitor of iphone by many.

So let’s take a look at both of the phones.

Android:

Android is an open source operating system designed, developed and centrally controlled by the Web Giant Google. It is provided free of cost to manufacturers who tend to make it the primary OS for their devices. Being open source and available for further improvement and development to the enormous community of developers, Android is robust, flexible and faster than all of its rivals. It delivers endless possibilities.

Manufacturers that use Android on their devices include Motorola, HTC, Sony Ericsson, Acer, Asus, Dell and the list goes on.

iPhone:

The iPhone is the premier product of Apple. Sleek, stylish and easy to use. The iPhone is solely manufactured and produced by Apple. It runs on iOS, which is similar to MacOS, the operating system of Apple’s desktop and laptop computers. The iPhone is basically a sign of luxury, rather productivity and features.

So what should I buy ?

Well, you should choose a phone according to your needs. What does a phone mean to you? Is it productivity and rich features what you are looking for ? Or is it the looks and the feel ?

When it comes to iPhone vs Android, its Design vs Engineering.

The iPhone has an image of being a symbol of luxury. Although, you’ll find well over 100,000 Apps for the the iPhone, but all of them won’t really be useful. As Apple’s Xcode makes it quite easy to write iPhone Apps in Objective C, sometimes too easy. Android phones on the other hand have lesser Apps, but a better ratio of them would be useful because of the nature of the OS. Whether you want to make a simple call or are a real tech Geek with a lot of knowledge of the latest technologies and want to capitalize on them; Android phones perform nearly all the tasks better than the iPhone.

In the hardware section, Android phones again take the lead. Since Android phones are manufactured by a lot of companies and there are dozens of phones available to choose from. An Android can have up to 1.2GHz of dual processor speed while the iPhone has only 800MHz.

In the design section however, the iPhone takes the lead. The sleek design, the big 3.5 inch retina display and a form factor that makes it even more eye catchy. In contrast, Android phones dont have those curves; the feel that the iPhone gives. The Droid 2 for example, has straight edges and looks like some sort of a device especially for technical use and not really intended to please the eyes.

To conclude, both the iPhone and Android are tough competitors and the competition continues as both seem to overcome their shortcomings and disadvantages. At places, one of them takes the lead, but barely though.

As a user, one must properly research the capabilities, advantages and disadvantages of both of these phones before buying one.

Text ads whether it is for search network or content network performs best when it comes to ‘ROI’ but many still lacking the true art of ad copy writing which is a pillar for any advertising campaign.

How good search ad copy writing can benefit you?
Good Ad copy writing can Increases your CTR
It reduces your overall costs.
Also helps increasing your quality score.

5 rules to write effective, compelling text ads.
1- Exclamation marks
According to Google adwords and other ad networks policies you can use one exclamation mark maximum. you must use it if you think it will suits your niche or product/service you are offering.

2- Display URL
Showing exact URL is not mandatory, than why not take benefit of it. suppose you’re selling multiple products on your website. your main URL is www.example.com. if you are advertising some products which related to tennis shoes then you don’t have to add www.myurl.com in a display URL section, instead of this you can use tennis-shoes.myurl.com
It will make your ad more catchy and appealing, and most importantly user will be able to see what they’re looking for more easily.

4- The Vertical Illusion
I call it the vertical illusion. In short what ever you are selling you must have one phrase/keyword in your mind. take previous example suppose if you’re selling tennis shoes, ‘tennis shoes’ becomes your main keyword. Now, why are you still using your main keywords ‘tennis shows’ in your heading only.

See the use of vertical illusion in the below example, this may looks little spammy but it’s just for you to understand properly.
It is not mandatory to use your keyword on a first place always but you can change the positions which ever suits your content. but the main point is that your keyword must appear at all 4 places. 1)Title 2)Description 3)Description two 4)Display URL

5-What your customers need?

Understand your targeted consumer behavior and what you can offer to them. Suppose your targeted audience is more conscious about prices, then add some line like low prices, 50% discount etc anything which raise their concern. If the majority of your targeted audience doesn’t care about price but more careful about quality than you can add anything like best quality, money back, 100%, etc etc

Google to improve Google Image Search

by Abdullah Khan on July 22, 2010

in News

According to Google, they are set to revamp the overall interface. the new Gogle Image Search will soon feature more images on the search results page.

If you take a look at screenshot, you’ll only see well aligned images with different sizes but most of them of a same height. the best part is you won’t see much text with the images which I think is a much better way for a good user experience.

This new Google Image search results page will allow you to get a good view of many images to get exactly what you’re really looking for. The page also immediately scroll down up to 1,000 images before bringing you to another page.

The screenshot also shows larger thumbnail previews for good user experience and which can easily fit into modern browsers as well as high-resolution screens.

Hover pane will also appear when you will mouse over any thumbnail, this will display larger preview of the image with all the necessary information about the image.

Some changes has been made to landing page also, hope these features will also be useful.

Do you think it can really makes your search better, OR are you happy with the current version of Google image search?
